This work depicts men travelling across sand hill country near the artist's home country Talaapi, north west of Kintore. The fine lines across the canvas describe the marks left by the trailing hairstring. Hairstring is produced by spinning hair across women's thighs following a death in the tribe. The women's hair is cut out of respect for the dead, collected and following cleansing ceremonies spun to make clothing and hairstring bags.
