Celia Perceval is the daughter of Mary Boyd and John Perceval.  As Patricia Dobrez and Peter Herbst explain 'Celia’s paintings are notable for their vivacity of brush stroke and sensitivity to colour nuances. Her paintings hold qualities derived not only from Perceval, but also from the impressionist and post-impressionist model of Monet, Pissaro and Van Gogh.'  In Figure by a Stream Under Blossom Tree, blossom and colour explode from the canvas which is painted with vibrant, energetic strokes. Celia Perceval is represented in Bendigo Regional Art Gallery, New England Regional Art Gallery, Armidale City Art Gallery as well as public collections both in Australia and overseas.
