Eva Breuer Art Dealer is pleased to present Focus on abstraction. An exhibition of three exciting abstract artists - Philippa Blair, Sally Robinson and Yvette Swan.
Philippa Blair, an abstract expressionist, fuses influences from both her New Zealand heritage and the various cities in which she has lived, in her vibrant, strong and colourful paintings. Blair’s work often refers to the ever-changing landscape and the effects of the elements; wind, fire, erosion and disintegration. Philippa has been exhibiting consistently since the late 1960s.
Sally Robinson’s layered geometric compositions are dynamic and precise. Robinson has exhibited solidly since graduating from the National Art School in the 1970s. She has been a finalist in numerous prizes including the Archibald Prize, Portia Geach Portrait Prize and the Doug Moran National
Portrait Prize.
Yvette Swan explores conceptual ideas around life and spirituality. Her works often evoke horizons and slices of the landscape. Yvette is a COFA graduate and has been a finalist in the Metro 5 and Wynne Prizes.
Gallery 2 will play host to important Australian abstract works including David Aspden, John Coburn, Wayne Eager, Weaver Hawkins, Ron Lambert, Sidney Nolan, Carl Plate, Stan Rapotec, Dick Watkins and Ken Whisson.
