Born in Sydney in 1906
EXHIBITIONS
He was represented by the Woollomooloo gallery who organised numerous solo, group and travelling exhibitions
AWARDS
Winner of several major prizes including the Sulman Prize in 1940 for a painting titled Vaucluse Interior
During WWII between 1943-45 Abbott was appointed as an Official War Artist
COLLECTIONS
Included in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Australian War Memorial, Canberra and several state and regional galleries
