Biography
1883 Born 23 December in Brighton, Victoria
1901-07 Studied at the National Gallery School, Melbourne, under Bernard Hall and Frederick McCubbin
1905 Awarded Second Place in the National Gallery's Travelling Scholarship competition
1909 Began to exhibit with the Council of the Victorian Artists' Society (where she continued to exhibit up to 1919)
1912-15 Exhibited in this period with the Queensland Art Society
1914 Awarded Silver Medal in the Panama-Pacific Exposition, San Francisco
1914-16 Member of the Council of the Victorian Artists' Society
1920-37 Exhibited at the Athenaeum Gallery, Melbourne, through this period
1922 Travelled to London, beginning a 17-year period in Europe
1924-31 Exhibited at the Beaux Arts Gallery, the Royal Academy and at the Old Salon, Paris. Later travelled throughout Europe and to Canada
1923 Awarded an Honourable Mention at the Old Salon, Paris
1939 Returned to Australia to visit her family, where she remained after World War II commenced
1947-60 Lived at Margaret Street, South Yarra. Her companion Miss Argemore Ffarington ('Bill') Bellairs was with her throughout this time
1960 Died on 8 September
