Matthew Perceval (b. 1940)

Biography
Matthew Perceval was bom in Melbourne in 1945
He left Australia in 1962 for Europe to pursue a
career in art
Lived and worked in London 1965-1967
South of France 1967-1978
Paris 1978-1981
During this time he undertook numerous painting trips
throughout Europe and North Africa
ln 1981 he returned to Australia and settled
with his family in Newcastle
Matthew Perceval exhibited for the very first time
at the Karoly Foundation in Venice in 1968
Since then he has held over 30 Main exhibitions
and has participated in many Group shows including:
Salon d'Autumne and Salon de Mai - Grand Palais - Paris
Australian Artists of Fame and Promise -
NSW House - London
Shifting Ground exhibition - Art Gallery of NSW
Nobbys Collection - Newcastle Regional Art Gallery
to name but a few
His work is represented in public, corporate and private
collections in many parts of the world
