Robert Juniper (b.1929)
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Merredin, Western Australia, in 1929. A painter, sculptor and printmaker, Juniper studied commercial art and industrial design at Beckenham School of Art, England. After returning to Western Australia in 1948, he painted, taught and exhibited from the early 1950s. The 1980s saw him investigate other artistic avenues, including stained glass, theatre set design and tapestry. A notable commission was the coat of arms for the Commonwealth Law Courts in Perth, 1992. Juniper has been represented in group shows of Australian contemporary art in Europe, the USA, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and New Caledonia.

Many solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia, and overseas, including a major retrospective in 1999 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth.
