2006 Degustation

25 February - 10 March 2006

'My latest exhibition Degustation has developed and matured from my last body of work, Harvest. Once again I have allowed food and tasting to influence my work. I believe, like an exquisite meal, a series of artworks should delight and entice the viewer, evoking different sensations and memories. My sister Claudia is a wonderful chef and I enjoy the connection of art and food and like to let it influence my work.
I have painted not just the raw ingredients but also objects, fabrics and places that are rich and evocative. I often intensify the colour and tone to make the work more sensuous and enticing. So I invite you to come and experience the paintings and hope you enjoy them...' Sophie Dunlop, January 2006
